The key to our success rests in our volunteers who embody the spirit of greatness by saying, "Yes I can, and so can you!" Thank you so much for your hard work. We could never have asked for more dedicated volunteers, and we cannot express how grateful we are to have you here!
Diane has been volunteering at the Burleigh County Senior Center since 2015. She volunteers at the office desk reception area on Thursday afternoons. Diane had always wanted to deliver meals but had to wait until she retired from the NDDOT to start delivering meals at the Burleigh County Senior Center. Diane volunteers at the Youth Correction Center, Faith Lutheran Church, the Bismarck Library and Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. When she is not volunteering, she enjoys reading mystery’s written by women and walking. Diane grew up in Elgin, ND, went to college in Grand Forks and then came to Bismarck to work. She has one brother that lives in Texas, one brother that lives in Nevada and a sister that lives in Bismarck. She started coming to the Senior Center because the staff always makes her feel welcome and the vast majority of seniors that she meets are awesome!
Jerry and Karen have been volunteering at the Burleigh County Senior Center for twelve years. They volunteer with delivering the Home Delivered Meals every Monday and Friday. Jerry and Karen previously owned the Carquest Auto Parts store. They enjoy church activities, taking walks and being outdoors. Jerry is a huge NASCAR fan while Karen is a fan of the Hallmark Channel. They have one son that lives in Bismarck, one son that lives in Sartell, MN, one daughter that lives in Wolf Point, MT and five grandchildren. They started coming to the Burleigh County Senior Center to help those in need in the community and they also get the opportunity to develop new friendships along the way.
