Mary Volk

Mary Volk

Mary has been a volunteer at the Burleigh County Senior Center for four years. She volunteers with the registration desk, carrying trays and serving ice cream and pie. She is a member of the Advisory Committee and the Burleigh County Senior Club. Mary worked at Butler Machinery for 27 years and Turrito’s Dry Cleaners for 9 years. She enjoys baking, going to the gym, word find books, playing on her IPad and socializing with friends over a cup of coffee. Mary is the oldest of twelve children and has been married to Roger for 46 years. They have two daughters, one granddaughter and three grandsons. She started coming to the Senior Center to get out and socialize and meet new people.

Loretta M. Carlson

Loretta M. Carlson

Loretta has been volunteering as a Home Delivered Meal driver at the Burleigh County Senior Center since 1974! She grew up on a farm south of New Leipzig and enjoys church activities, taking drives where she can enjoy the scenery, and socializing with people. Before Loretta came to the Senior Center she raised her family, worked for the School Lunch Program and was a bookkeeper. Loretta and her husband starting coming to the Senior Center on Saturdays when they served weekend meals. She enjoys delivering meals because the people are special to her and it is a much needed service that she is glad to help out with.
