You Make It Happen!

The key to our success rests in our volunteers who embody the spirit of greatness by saying, "Yes I can, and so can you!" Thank you so much for your hard work. We could never have asked for more dedicated volunteers, and we cannot express how grateful we are to have you here!

Ron Kraf

Ron Kraf

Ron has been volunteering with the noon meal dish crew for twelve years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sally and remodeling rental units with his son. After six years in the Navy, Ron managed tire stores for 26 years and then sold furniture for another 20 years. Ron has been married to Sally for 17 years and they have three children together, four grandchildren and one great grandson. Ron started coming to the Senior Center after friends told him how good the meals were and all the activities to do. They were right! He enjoys meeting new people and he gets to work with a great bunch of guys. Thank you, Ron, for your time and service at the Burleigh County Senior Center!

Herb & Lucille Ritz

Herb & Lucille Ritz

For six years now, Herb and Lucille's smiling faces have been seen at the Burleigh County Senior Center. They started coming to the Senior Center to meet people and get out of the house. Now they deliver meals to Crescent Manor four times a week. Herb also helps with cleaning tables after lunch and getting ice cream for the Senior Club. Herb is no stranger to hard work. For 53 years, he worked as a brick layer not only in the Bismarck area, but also in Virginia, New Mexico, Wyoming, and anywhere else he could find work to support his family. Herb and Lucille have been married for 66 years and have two daughters, one son, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. When he's not helping at the Senior Center, he's at home helping Lucille with chores or participating in church activities. Volunteering keeps them active and gives them the opportunity to meet new people and socialize with friends they have made at the Senior Center. Thank you, Herb and Lucille, for being happy, smiling, and continuing to serve others here at the Burleigh County Senior Center!
