The key to our success rests in our volunteers who embody the spirit of greatness by saying, "Yes I can, and so can you!" Thank you so much for your hard work. We could never have asked for more dedicated volunteers, and we cannot express how grateful we are to have you here!
Doris is a relatively new volunteer to the Bismarck Senior Center. Since July, she has helped pack meals for the home delivery program. She was raised on a farm in southeast Burleigh county and graduated from Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing and Mary College. Doris worked at the hospital and the ND Department of Human Services for over 30 years. When she moved back to Bismarck from Minnesota in 2015, she needed a social support system. Her sister-in-law invited her to the Senior Center. She said it was the best thing ever! When she isn’t here, she enjoys reading, watching movies and tv, walking, caring for her flowers, and socializing with friends and family. She has four children, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Doris says she likes to volunteer at the Senior Center because it gives her a sense of purpose and she works with a super group of people.
Thank you, Doris, for joining the team and helping to make a difference!
